What our members have to say
Working full time and being a first time mom can be a little overwhelming – to say the least! Mothers & More has given me a way to connect with other moms. A much needed outlet! Due to my schedule, the majority of events I have attended have been Moms' Nights Out. Roller skating, Margarita Night, and the Volunteer Appreciation Dinner are just a few of the events I have enjoyed in the short time I have been a member.
-Danielle, Wallingford, CT
Mothers & More has been a lifesaver for me. I felt so isolated as a stay-at-home mom. Mothers & More gave me the social interaction I was looking for and so much more. There is always someone in the group that has gone through what you're going through and can give advice or just be there to listen. My daughter has made friends and enjoys her playgroups tremendously. The other moms are all so warm and welcoming. I love my "moms' nights out" and all of the fun we have. I'm so glad I joined. I honestly don't know what I'd do without this amazing support group of amazing moms!
- Sarah, Hamden, CT
I joined Mothers and More to meet other moms who understand what it's like to be a mom -the challenges of raising kids, the needed support moms can give each other as well as a greater opportunity to allow my 3 young kids (ages 3 1/2, 2, and 7months) the ability to socialize, play and attend other fun events with kids their age. I stay home with my kids during the week and work every weekend, so I look forward to the Moms' Nights Out!! Nothing beats relaxing with other moms you have formed great friendships with!
- Renee, Meriden, CT
I joined Mothers and More to connect with other moms. Most of my friends don't have children and I was looking for other moms who I can relate to. I am somewhat new to the group and have not been to alot of events yet. The events that I have been to the other members have made me feel so welcomed. I have truely enjoyed the moms night out and playgroups that my daughter and I have attended. I am so glad that I joined Mothers and More, it's exactly what I was looking for!
- Lauren, Branford, CT
As a new mom, I wanted to find a group that would have activities for me and my new baby. I googled mother’s groups in CT and I found Mothers & More, which offered everything I was looking for! Playgroups, moms night out events, family and couple nights, and so much more. It seemed like the perfect fit. I joined this wonderful group of moms when my son was only 5 weeks old. From the first event I went to, everyone was so friendly and welcoming. I felt like I had belonged for years.
Until you become a mom, you don’t realize just how much you need friends that are moms. I can’t even put into words what an amazing resource this group has been for me. It is such a comfort to know that if I have a parenting question or concern, that I have so many friends to lean on that know what I am going through. If I post on Facebook that my child is sick, all of my “mom” friends ask how we are doing and offer their assistance if there is anything we need.
For me the best events have been the mom’s night out events. It is such a comfort and relief to just go hang out with the mom’s to unwind and have some adult conversation. No matter what the event, we always have a great time!
Mothers & More is an amazing organization and I am so proud to be a part of it. I have made some wonderful friendships in this group and love watching my son make new friends too.

Topic: Pinterest Win/Fail
Some of us are crafty, some of us are great cooks, and some of us are just searching for ways to simplify our lives in any way we can. Than you Pinterest for your how-to guides, your birthday ideas, your amazing artistries, and your excellent recipes. However, not ALL Pinterest "pins" are worth sharing. This month's meeting is all about Pinterest "wins" *and* "fails". Come share what you have cooked up, crafted up, and f... errrr... I mean, messed up! Some of us will really appreciate the shared knowledge! Oh, and if you cooked up a WIN, please bring samples!! Otherwise, snacks will be served.
We were voted Best Support Group for Moms in KidHaven's Best of KidHaven 2011!
We have such a wide variety of activities to suit any interest. Past activities include sports playgroups, a soup swap, rock climbing, baby playgroups, a free tennis lesson for moms and kids, walking and hiking groups, a trip to the planetarium, kids crafts, a night out for tapas, and two private tours of a fire house for the kids. There is a new schedule every month and always a wide variety based on member interest and kids' ages. There is something for everyone and to fit any schedule!
Top 5 Reasons to Join Mothers & More of Greater New Haven
(compiled by our wonderful members!)
5. It's like having a mommy help-line; a network of moms to ask questions and get "real life" answers.
4. To learn about local family-oriented activities (such as farmer's markets, free summer concerts, holiday events for children). Also - notifications of coupons, sales, discounts, and freebies!
3. Get great advice and support (are there any other social outlets where someone will listen to your potty-training, nail-biting, etc. stories with rapt attention?). Because we have over 50 members, we have moms at all stages of life. It is so helpful to have the more experienced moms able to help the new moms!
2. Moms need playdates too - to meet others with similar-age children, find fun activities in the area, and get out of the house. To get a break with our Moms Night Out- a night away from the kids for scrapbooking, wine tasting, going to the movies, bonfire/s'mores, or book club with other moms
