What our members have to say
I originally joined Mothers & More expecting to mainly participate in playgroups but with going back to work full-time from home, I've found it's the mom's night outs (MNO's) that are essential to my sanity! I was very fortunate to find such a diverse group of moms who are always there for one another and without judgment. They especially came through when we lost power for days and I suddenly went into early labor by providing meals for my mom and older kids, bringing over batteries, and even setting up the bassinet!

I decided to join Mothers & More over a year ago when I became a stay-at-home mom so that my kids and I would have plenty of activities to do out of the house. What I've gained is long term friendships for both me and my kids plus a group of moms who are extremely supportive and encouraging through the toughest and craziest moments of mommyhood!
- Brooke, Bristol, CT
I love being a part of Mothers and More! I have met such a nice group of women who have become my good friends! I joined because we live far from our families, and I was looking to meet other new moms in the New Haven area. Everyone is so friendly and helpful! My son has even met some great friends too!
- Jen, Orange, CT
Mothers & More has been a lifesaver for me. I felt so isolated as a stay-at-home mom. Mothers & More gave me the social interaction I was looking for and so much more. There is always someone in the group that has gone through what you're going through and can give advice or just be there to listen. My daughter has made friends and enjoys her playgroups tremendously. The other moms are all so warm and welcoming. I love my "moms' nights out" and all of the fun we have. I'm so glad I joined. I honestly don't know what I'd do without this amazing support group of amazing moms!
- Sarah, Hamden, CT
I joined Mothers & More because I needed a balance of playgroups for my daughter and "mom only time" away from the house. I feel like I've actually been a better mom to my daughter because I feel that in Mothers and More I achieve this balance. Self-care is just as important as finding activities for our kids, and Mothers and More really gives you both sides of that coin.
We typically have about 50 members. Our children range in age from newborns to teens, and we have a mix of members who are caring for children full time, working full-time for pay, and everywhere in between.
Each month we schedule a wide variety of activities to suit any interest. Past activities include a soup swap, rock climbing, baby playgroups, a free tennis lesson for moms and kids, walking and hiking groups, a trip to the planetarium, kids crafts, a night out for tapas, and private tours of a fire house for the kids. There is a new calendar every month and always a wide variety based on member interest and kids' ages. There is something for everyone and to fit any schedule!
Top 5 Reasons to Join Mothers & More of Greater New Haven
(compiled by our wonderful members!)
5. It's like having a mommy help-line; a network of moms to ask questions and get "real life" answers.
4. To learn about local family-oriented activities (such as farmer's markets, free summer concerts, holiday events for children). Also - notifications of coupons, sales, discounts, and freebies!
3. Get great advice and support (are there any other social outlets where someone will listen to your potty-training, nail-biting, etc. stories with rapt attention?). Because we have over 50 members, we have moms at all stages of life. It is so helpful to have the more experienced moms able to help the new moms!
2. Moms need playdates too - to meet others with similar-age children, find fun activities in the area, and get out of the house. To get a break with our Moms Night Out- a night away from the kids for scrapbooking, wine tasting, going to the movies, bonfire/s'mores, or book club with other moms
