Power of a Purse 2010
\\
This past Mother's Day, the National office of Mothers & More encouraged each chapter to celebrate the role of mothers through a program called "Power of a Purse." Our chapter partnered with New Haven Home Recovery (NHHR). We reached out to the women of NHHR to raise their sense of hope by donating purses and filling them with personal items such as hand cream, chapstick, makeup, etc. Because "Hope is a powerful thing."
Thank you to everyone who donated purses for our Power of a Purse campaign. We ended up collecting 121 bags in total!! Thank you so much for your generosity. And a special thank you goes out to The Play School preschool and Happy Times preschool for setting up their own collection boxes! Great job everyone!!!

Happy Anniversary to the Greater New Haven chapter of Mothers & More!
Our chapter's 5 year anniversary was celebrated on October 18th at Ludal's restaurant in North Haven. We had a great time, with good food and amazing moms! We had a lot to celebrate. We recognized our members that have been with us for more than 2 years, 3 years, and even 4 years with a gift card to Joiya Day Spa! Thank you for your love and devotion, ladies!
Mothers & More Power of a Purse Campaign 2011
Every Mother's Day, the national organization of Mothers & More holds their Power of a Purse campaign. The goal is to collect purses while raising awareness of mothers in need. The purse symbolizes a woman's economic power, to be able to provide for her children and take care of herself, something we wish for all mothers.
The Greater New Haven chapter did an amazing job this year with our Power of a Purse campaign. We collected 128 purses and a huge amount of toiletries. Thank you to all of our members who donated and helped out with our purse drive. And thank you to the businesses that hosted donation boxes.
Donation Boxes were placed at:
Happy Times School in Cheshire, CT
Mitchell Branch Library in New Haven, CT
Oakwood Childcare Center in Hamden, CT
Yale University (Astronomy Department) in New Haven, CT
All donations were dropped off at the New Haven Home Recovery Program on Tues May 3rd. We know the women of the NHHR program will be overjoyed to get these purses and toiletry items. A little bit of hope and love can make a big difference in someone’s life. THANK YOU!
